Mercy Medical Center North Iowa has a tradition in the Mason City vicinity dating back to its founding in 1916. Nearly a century later, Mercy serves as the center of a premier rural healthcare delivery system for northern Iowa and southern Minnesota.

With a staff of more than 2,600, including approximately 400 providers, the Mercy North Iowa network consists of the Mason City medical center, plus eight critical access hospitals, and owns a number of primary care and specialty clinics. In addition, a home health agency, a hospice, a regional referral laboratory, pharmacies, an emergency services network and regional rehabilitation and diagnostic technology services round out the Mercy North Iowa network of service offerings

North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) is a cornerstone institution in our region, serving students while also supporting the local economy. As one of the largest employers in North Iowa, NIACC provides jobs to hundreds of dedicated faculty and staff who make a lasting impact on education, workforce development, and community growth.

As one of Mason City’s largest employers, Curries provides hundreds of jobs right here in North Iowa. Their team of dedicated employees helps power a company known nationwide for its quality doors and frames, while also driving opportunity and growth in the community.

Employing nearly 650 people, One Vision is a private, non-profit, charitable organization dedicated to serving people with intellectual disabilities. One Vision is based in Clear Lake, Iowa but their services reach into many local communities, and they serve individuals from throughout Iowa. They provide a caring, supportive atmosphere for more than 600 people who receive one or more types of service from One Vision. Ages range from infants to senior citizens. Disabilities include intellectual disabilities, mental illness, cerebral palsy, seizure disorders, brain injury, autism, and more.

Cargill is an international producer and marketer of food, agricultural, financial and industrial products and services. Cargill is a privately held company that employs 142,000 people in 65 countries. Cargill is committed to sharing our global knowledge and experience to help meet economic, environmental and social challenges. Cargill Kitchen Solutions operates an egg processing operation in Mason City. First established in 2005, the Cargill Mason City facility has expanded several times and now employs more than 135 people, standing as a major food processing employer in the region.
